Youth Mentoring
Guiding young men forward
The importance of having healthy role models and mentors around us as we grow up, is an integral part of maturing into an integrated and happy adult.
This is where mentorship from the “uncle” and “older brother” come in.
They are that healthy, present and supportive figure that can bring guidance and council in those times of need, so that there can be a safe passage into adulthood.
Nature
Through the exploration of fishing adventures, waterfall hikes, and campfire stories.
We can begin to create an environment that is supportive and nourishing to a young mans development and maturation.
By spending regular time together reconnecting to the earth and the natural rhythms of nature, we can re regulate the nervous system, so that a more grounded, calm and clear engagement with themselves and those around them can take place.
Self
Having healthy reflections and feedback available to young men as they grow up, is an important part of developing a strong sense of self.
From here, a healthy awareness of what their needs, values and desires can emerge.
By bringing in curiosity and insightful inquiry, we can help foster a clear and secure connection to self.
As a result, a solid foundation for heathy relationships and endeavours can take place.
Other
The quality of our relationships is often a direct reflection of how healthy, successful and long our lives will be.
So the importance of learning how to interact, communicate and listen to those around us as we grow up, is imperative.
By having regular discussions around what our needs and boundaries are, we can then support the development of healthy and loving relationships for the young men in out lives.
